Lemmy Caution (Eddie Constantine) is a detective who is sent on assignment to the galaxy’s main city, Alphaville, which has no soul. It is not on Earth. Poems and love, as well as any other forms of expressing onself, are against the law there. He is looking for an escaped scientist called Von Braun (Howard Vernon), who is also the ruler of Alphaville. Lemmy then gets into a relationship with Natacha (Anna Karina), who is Von Braun’s daughter. She is childlike and does not know the meaning of love. Lemmy must also engage in a mental battle with Alpha 60, a supercomputer. |
